Senior year of high school, my video production team for Business Professionals of America really wanted to knock it out of the park.

We were given the task of informing teens on the basics of tire safety, and we decided the best way to create an attentive audience was to make a fun, colorful video that would catch and hold eyes to the screen. Most importantly, we did NOT want it to be an melodramatic, boring story about teens not checking their tires and dying in an auto accident. Emotionally compelling perhaps, but tired and unoriginal.

We achieved this by shamelessly copying emulating the aloof and playful style of writer and director Wes Anderson. I invite you to count the ungodly number of nods we make to his work.

It some ways it has not aged quite so gracefully, but it still gets better every time I watch it. A lot of love for the craft went into this project, and I’m proud to say it still shows.
